bits

i made it. i'm here.
*
it's so beautiful here. i went on a hike today. the ground was a bit muddy, but it was worth it. the birch trees are stunning. the leaves are changing color and falling.
*
javier o. huerta: “Jokes are similar to poems in their structure, in the surprise factor,” he said. “A joke ends with laughter or an ‘I get it’. A joke closes at the end. There’s a start in a poem’s end. A good poem should open to other interpretations.”
*
yesterday, i went canoeing. man, that word looks odd, no? it's that "e." anyways, i took a two-person canoe out, which made it hard to steer.
*
will post pics this week.
*
cristian flores garcia: an invitation to lunch
*
after the hike, a couple of residents went swimming in the lake. i also wanted to swim, but the water was so freaking cold. i just dipped my feet in; quickly, they turned blue.
*
i have two words for you: dock spiders! big big big spiders. yikes.
*
many thanks to the poetry editors of devil's lake for taking a poem.
