Yesterday was my last day with my Intro to Poetry students. One young lady came to class with homemade cupcakes. These weren't ordinary cupcakes! With pipe frosting she scribbled a phrase or image from student work on top of each cupcake.
Wow.
is the Love Child of Robert Hayden and Federico GarcĂa Lorca.

And so the sucking up by another young poet begins . . .
I think it was lovely of her to do.

P.S. If I see you at the AWP, I owe you--at least one drink--I should be safe, since you're such a lightweight in that respect. My college is sending me for a project I described that involves you.
I think it was sweet, too. Perhaps she is both a poet and a food artist as well. At any rate, encourage her to attend future classes as food is usually tasty. Usually.
Dunno what AWP is but it sounds important. We all remain proud of you.
My dear friend, I have said it before and I will say it again ... you are marvelous! Simply marvelous!
