Good. Now give me 'This Is Not a Poem #3". Gracias.
Hey Dog,
Poems aren't pop tarts. They take time to write. A lot of blood goes into each verse, sometimes even organs like hearts. They can get lost on the page, never to be found again expect into between the lines of fading ink.
William Carlos Williams
Billy,
You need to call me. You left something in my quarter last night. Bad little angel.
W.H. Auden
Stop flirting Auden, and come give me my Joy Harjo tattoo like you promised.
Langston Hughes
I used to come home late and not a minute too soon
Barking like a dog, howling at the moon
You'd be mad as an ol' red hen, up all night wonderin' where I been
I'd fall down and say come help me honey
You laughed outloud, I guess you thought it was funny
I sobered up, and I got to thinkin'
Girl you ain't much fun since I quit drinkin'
(This is a song, but can you submit this for me Diana?)
Toby
Hey Dog,
Stop stealing my lyrics!
Toby
You know, Diana, you didn't have to delete me. I thought we had something going.
love,
This Is Not a Poem #2
At least she didn't just forget you like she did me.
Dear Jimmy
This is amazing! I've always wanted my poems to write back to me! Especially the ones I abandoned.
Gerald Stern
Not me. If I forgot about you, I forgot about you.
