Rigo Rocks

My roommate and amigo Rigoberto Gonzalez has received some great news this week.

Other Fugitives and Other Strangers, his second book of poems, has been picked up by Tupelo Press

And he's been awarded a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship in non-fiction.

Yeah! I couldn't be happier or prouder.

Wow! That's a lot of excellent news all in one post. Congratulations to him! I do love Tupelo Press -- not only do they publish good poetry, but their books are pretty and they use nice paper. (Hey, it matters!)

Please pass along my congratulations and good wishes. I know well the happiness/relief he must be feeling about the book. But he is a good poet, and I knew another press would snap it up. When will Tupelo bring it out?

C. Dale,

Rigo's book comes out in the fall of 2006.

I can't wait. Mainly because it's the first time my name appears in someone's acknowledgement page!

Who's Rigo? Does he write poems?
