I just got the news that I will be a Winter/Spring 2006 Fellow at The MacDowell Colony. I can't wait. A writing studio! Lunch baskets! Reading in the snow! The chance to interact with other fellows! Did I already mention the lunch baskets?
Thanks to Rigoberto and to Ivy for helping me to hammer out my artist statement!
UPDATE: Should I blog from MacDowell? That would be fun! I will need to buy a digital camera to post photographs to the blog. And I need to buy a new kick-ass scarf!
is the Love Child of Robert Hayden and Federico GarcĂa Lorca.

Congratulations! Everyone I know who has been to MacDowell has loved it.
Holy shit! That's HUGE!!!!!! You go!
Yay! Yay! Woohoo!
Congrats!
You had me at lunch baskets. MacDowell completes you.
Excellent news, Eduardo! Congrats on this. Can't wait to hear how it goes...
Champagne and lunch baskets for all.
Oh wow! This is wonderful news. And yes, you MUST blog from MacDowell, so the rest of us can live vicariously!
Don't blog from MacDowell! After all, it's a colony; they bring you food to your doorstep in a little basket; lovers & loved ones are forbidden (in theory) which is Reason #1 I never applied. A chance in a lifetime. Life bonds will be formed. You'll be in it with other artists of other disciplines and event-horizons. Take advantage of it. You have the best excuse in the world to not-blog and write your dainty deditos off. Have Rigoberto take over the blog in your absence. (YEAH!)
I'm not EVEN gonna congratulate you. You already know that I know you deserve it -- OF COURSE YOU GOT IN, how could they not accept you? Who knows what you'll end up with.
(Today's the first day of my new novel. Join me?)
Happy Dead,
~ "Jeoxh" "Josh" (How come I'm the only one this thing talks to??)

That's sweet news! I'm happy for you -- and a little jealous of all that time to write. Enjoy it. What will you be working on there -- book #2? Congratulations, Eduardo. It's well deserved! Matt

ob

Congratulations, Eduardo! It's beautiful up here in NH, and I hope you find it so.
Congrats on the fellowship. Have a great time. And write write write!
They say I can be Anonymous but really, I know who I am! Being number one-zillion and one on the list of saying "Congrats!" and "Wow-zie!" and "Vermont!" isn't all that ... still, I hear there are poets there. Poets with baskets! (think of the Freudian implications!)
Yeah, but it's no Casa Grande...!
Perfect! You're gonna love it.
Yay, Eduardo Rocks On.
Felicidades!
Congratulations!
Prob'ly you're gonna want to save all your creative juices (ahem) for your other writing, and not for blogging.
Congrats, Eduardo!
That's absolutely fantastic news, Eduardo! And so well-deserved! And yay for the baskets!
Yea! You deserve it. I loved the little cookies they give with every lunch-in-a-basket. And you'll never know your basket has arrived because they are sooo quiet.
What an honor! Kudos!
